I’m a water snob! I have a hard time drinking my daily quota if I’m in a situation where I have to drink bottled water. It doesn’t taste good to me and I’m never sure where it actually came from; some dude’s garden hose or an actual filtration system somewhere.
At our house, we use a Berkey Purification system and we love the water from it! The Berkey systems remove viruses, parasites, harmful bacteria, chemical contaminates, and impurities but leave the essential minerals that your body needs.
These gravity fed systems are classed as water PURIFIERS rather than filters, because the devices remove 99.9999999% of pathogenic bacteria and 99.99% of viruses. They can easily treat tap water as well as raw, untreated water from remote lakes and streams. They’re ideal to take on vacation, in your RV, boat, or ATV and are an excellent tool to have on hand in the event of a natural disaster when tap water may not be available.
We live on an acreage and our water comes from a well. The water is pretty good most of the time, but because it’s a shallow well, we sometimes get an off taste, so by using a Berkey system we never have to worry about a weird taste from spring run-off.
Berkey systems are simple to operate and maintain and are easily assembled without tools. If you’re in a city or town that has fluoride added to the water, Berkey has filters for that too! Fluoride is detrimental to your health, so filtering it out is critical!
